We all need cheerleaders

Look around you.  If you do not think you have any cheerleaders around you think again. Even if it is negative cheerleading that is going on 98% of us have cheerleaders around us.

Those who have families seek first to get approval from our spouse or our significant other as the case may be. For those with children we seek the praise and admiration of the children for they are our future. They see things more clearly and are usually not overly afraid to speak about it.

Then there are those who must have a large cheerleader pack such as bands, singers, actors, politicians and other active public figures. They all seek to have cheerleaders edging them on to greater heights of achievement.

It is not a one way street for the cheerleaders needs those that they can cheer for.  We all get excited for one reason or another but when we have someone or something to cheer for we can feel the excitement of the person we are cheering for.

Sports for example.  People gather in a stadium all bunched together … many who are total strangers and may become acquainted with those around them for the time that they are together cheering together for the team or whoever they are watching.

About the Author:

We go to movies and scrunch up in small seats next to more total strangers in a dark room for up to 2 hours never once giving any thought to what might be going on in the dark for most of us are fixated on the screen and cheering on the actors and actresses to do their best to bring out emotions in us like laughing or crying.

Vicariously we live through those we cheer or jeer. Yes we even feel emotional release when we jeer someone or a team. It seems to help the person or team that is performing for us to cheer them on. This has been going on for centuries.

We send and receive cheering and jeering by our fellow human beings every day of our lives from the moment that we are born for most of us. We are cheered when we are born and the parents are cheered for producing a child or in some cases children.

Then there is those who are the chiefs of the world who rise above it all and while the cheering is nice, it is not what motivates them to major heights of achievement. These unique individuals has their own internal cheerleading squad that rarely wavers.

Individuals such as the original owner of Wendy’s who despite everyone telling him that his idea would never work is now a multi-millionaire.  Those brave men and women willing to push the limit despite what others think. They still need a cheerleader because once they have proved that they are right everyone flocks to that person and cheers.

A very influential person once said ‘When you ask yourself “how bad do I want something?” we have only ourselves to answer to. After all we can be our own best cheerleader.  Despite the external jeering that might be done when a person listens to their own personal cheerleader then we often achieve great heights of remarkable accomplishments.
